Vincent Lee Alston has been acting for over fifteen years. Ironically he “cut his teeth” in a dual role performance at the University of Louisville. He played Obadiah in August Wilson’s The Home Coming and “Cutler” in Ma Rainey. One of his favorite roles is playing Malcolm X in Jeff Stetson’s The Meeting.
Additionally, he has been in several productions at The John Beasley Theatre, where he has portrayed “Doub” in Jitney, “Walter Lee Younger” in A Raisin In the Sun and “Bynum” in Joe Turner’s Come and Gone.
In 2006 he was invited to participate in a tribute to August Wilson at Great Plains Theater Conference.
2007, brought new challenges as Vincent wrote, produced and starred in his first independent film – FOR LOVE OF AMY – which had a small theatrical release and secured DVD distribution with Vanguard Cinema.
His next project, Prayin’ For A Wind, and Amy – The series are now in development.
